Who are you?
Recently, I've been AI and game architect - I've focused on engineering gameplay systems through the novel application of
AI techniques. I'm a big proponent of physically credible character AI - which means I spend a lot of
time reading about and developing A-Life systems, understanding various cognitive models, researching
spatial theories of behavioral occurrence, and the general decision making processes of humans.
One of my recent responsibilities was the design and development of a locomotion architecture which included the behavioral,
physics and navigation systems. When you develop and implement a locomotion architecture, you not only need an in-depth
knowledge of the environment, but you also need to determine how to handle collisions (as well as when not to), and an
understanding of the general principles of egocentric motion; which itself requires in-depth information about the various
domains (physics, animation and AI) to implement correctly.
